In August 1996, due to the sale of New World Communications Group, Inc., Marvel Films renamed to Marvel Studios.

Following the new logo introduced in 2002, Marvel Studios also change the logo. However, due to the company start focusing on licensing films to third-party studios like 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures and New Line Cinema, the text "Studios" had been removed.

Also, this is the first time that Marvel has a on-screen logo at the film opening, which introduced in Spider-Man (2002).

Following the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with Iron Man (2008), Marvel Studios starts produce film by itself, and text "Studios" was add back to the logo.

In 2009, the film licensing division full seprate from Marvel Studios, which using Marvel Entertainment as its legal name.

Starts Thor: The Dark World (2013), Marvel Studios introduced the new logo to seprate the on-screen logo with Marvel Entertainment.

Starts Doctor Strange (2016), the new logo was introduced. Same to the 2013 logo, this update is used to seprate the on-screen logo with Marvel Television (which still use the 2013 logo until it folded into Marvel Studios).
