This logo was first introduced when McDonald's opened its first German branch in Munich on 22 November 1971. This was followed on 21 December 1990 in Plauen.
1984–2003[]
In 1984, the logo was given a red background and the text became white.
1996–2006[]
Alternate variant of the logo as seen on McDonald's commercials that aired between 1998 and 2003 with the slogans "McDonald's ist einfach gut" and "Every time a good time". It is also used for signage.

As part of the first restaurant redesign in decades, called 'Forever Young', the logo was redesigned.
