McDonald's first opened in Astana, Kazakhstan on March 8, 2016.
On November 18, 2022, McDonald's temporarily closed all of its restaurants due to local supply issues that sparked the situation from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Following the temporary shutdown of all of its restaurants, McDonald's announced that they would leave Kazakhstan on January 4, 2023, due to running out of its supplies after the ban on Russian meat patties, the restaurants were later rebranded to MyOtkryty. (Now I'm)
