On March 11, 1994, the bank was renamed to Mediocredito Centrale.
In 1999, Banca di Roma acquired Mediocredito Centrale. Due to the latter merging, its ownership was transferred to Capitalia in 2002.

On August 1, 2011, the bank was bought by Banca del Mezzogiornio. However, UniCredit MedioCredito Centrale would not be renamed until 2012.
