The Melbourne Rebels were the ARC representing Melbourne. The team folded in 2007 along with the championship.

With the foundation of the NRC, Melbourne Rising was founded in 2014.
2016–present[]
In 2016, Melbourne Rising changed its logo to match the logo of Melbourne Rebels.
