  • Hello, I have recently found out that KCPQ ditched Tribune's graphics for their current O&O one. KTVU in my area uses it since 1/22/2020, but the graphics were first seen on KSAZ–TV in Phoenix and WTVT in Tampa–St. Petersburg. Luckily, they did kept the "Q13", but it is now "Q13 Fox News". I wonder if they began to use Stephen Arnold's "Beyond", just like most of Fox O&O's. However, WJZY in Charlotte continues to use the O&O graphics even after Fox Television Stations traded it to Nexstar for KCPQ, KZJO, and WITI. I am unsure if WITI continues to use KTXL's and WDAF–TV's Tribune graphics though. I have also found out that KCPQ actually uses the 2019 network wordmark. P.S. they even did updated the website from Tribune's platform, to one used by FTS. However, WITI's website continues to use the LocalTV/Tribune platform. RVandres (talk) 07:45, July 1, 2020 (UTC)

    • I checked on KICU's 7pm newscast, and they are still using the on-screen bug for KTVU's newscasts. Here's what that would have looked like:
      KICU-7pm-bug

On occassional times it would transition between that and the KTVU Fox 2 logo, like KDFW Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth's newscasts'

changing from the Fox 4 logo to the social media one "@FOX4".

Luckily since January 22, 2020, KTVU's newscasts now have the current time beneath the on-screen bug, much like the rest of Fox O&O's (It was originally shown only on Mornings on 2 until January 21, 2020). However, it does not have the current temperature, as I guess it's kinda challenging to predict the current weather in the Bay Area. But for KCPQ, it might display both the current time and temperature.

Well done. Maybe Q13's changing of the on-air graphics and theme music package would wait til either tomorrow or Friday or American Independence Day. DonDonP1 (talk) 05:56, July 2, 2020 (UTC)

  • KTVU News MicFlag (1992-1996)
I recreated the microphone flag that was used by KTVU's newscasts from 1992-1996 from the ground up in Inkscape. I've also shortened the searchlights on the 1989-1993 network promo logo that Bigvoice313 created.

  • DonDonP1, can you recreate the 1979 KCTS logo again? It needs to be thicker and bolder, like this:

  • I've recreated the logos/wordmarks for the computer models that Dell produces from either the present-day, or back in the day, all built up from the ground with Inkscape. It was the Latitude series of business laptops, the OptiPlex series of business desktops, and the Dimension series of consumer desktops. I am currently working on the logos for the Precision series of workstation desktops and also the former IBM NetVista/ThinkCentre logos of the era. Since I already have Univers/Helvetica Condensed, looks like I'll have to install Bodoni, IBM's font used at the time.

    • Oh, and I forgot! Bank Gothic, especially for some of the stations that were either owned by Hearst or another company. I'll install it too, if necessary. BTW for some reason, I was unable to recreate the call letters that were on the pedestal of a particular Fox affiliate logo (i.e. KTTV, KDAF, KRIV, WFXT, XETV, WNYW).

I've updated the print logo for WTXF by adding the 2019 wordmark, along with adding the missing print logos for KRIV that includes both the one used until 2020, and the one in use since this year too. I've also noticed that KMSP-TV, KTTV, WNYW, WTTG, WAGA-TV, and WHBQ-TV are missing their print variants.

    • My first SVG creation is the 1997-2015 KTVU logo inverted monochrome. However, when I zoomed closely at the smoothness, it was rough! My bad! I'm getting used to Inkscape. Any suggestions/tips n' tricks? I checked out YT and as I get used to Inkscape, I'll get better at it. BTW I've successfully recreated the print version of the 1983-1995 KBVO-TV (now KEYE-TV) "Star 42" logo with Inkscape! I'll work on the yellow version with the 1987 Fox logo that was used from 1992 to 1993 as "Fox 42" back when it was Austin's original Fox affiliate in Texas. You can try this in yellow with the aformentioned Fox logo if you like, since I granted you permission to experiment with it.

  • Is it possible to use the current filesize of
    Los Angeles Chargers logo
this on Wikipedia? That file is blurry with the small size it has right now when clicked on to veiw in commons.

Also, File:Los Angeles Chargers 2020 wordmark.svg seems be too blurry from there where you got it, and I do not have the proper program to upscale it to accurate quality. Its pixel lines should be way sharper than that.

I’d much appreciate it. I got that file from Chargers.com on their header image, but unfortunately I can’t get a crisp vector SVG file of it because I haven’t been able to find the original PDF from NFLCommunications yet. I did the best with what I had but I don’t have the proper programs to fix the blurriness from the ground up.

Don't worry, I shall build the SVG file from that ground up. It may take while due to other activities of mine. DonDonP1 (talk) 03:44, March 27, 2020 (UTC)

Oh yeah and don't worry about my first request. Looks like somebody else fixed that. The wordmark is still the same, however, and I'll great appriciate it if you do that. Take your time.
