MetroTV is the first 24-hour television news channel in Indonesia. MetroTV is also the first Indonesian television to broadcast news programs in the Mandarin language.

2000–2010

Launched:  25 November 2000

On 25 November 2000, MetroTV was launched. Initially, MetroTV was broadcast in 12 hours per day from 12.00 pm until 12.05 am. On 1 April 2001, MetroTV extended the broadcast into 24 hours nonstop which become the first television channel in Indonesia to broadcast 24 hours nonstop.

2010–present

Launched:  20 May 2010

On 20 May 2010, MetroTV changed its logo for the first time in almost 10 years. On the same time, MetroTV's on-screen bug moved from right top screen to right bottom, and along with it comes the new slogan: "Knowledge to Elevate". This rebranding project was developed by DMID Group.

On 25 November 2020, to commemorate its 20th anniversary, MetroTV updated its on-air look by removing the wordmark. The former logo is retained on corporate purposes.
