This is the final version to use the long-running "puzzle" icon. The style matches the Windows XP's logo.

The "puzzle" was replaced by different sized squares with the colors remaining unchanged.

This is the redesigned version of the Office 2003's logo. It's the first one to use the Segoe Typography.
Microsoft Office 2010[]
2010–2020[]
The colors were changed to being all orange and the "squares" were modified. This is the final version to use the "squares" icon.

2012–2022[]
A new logo was unveiled in June 2012 to match the Metro design language. The "squares" were replaced with a "door" which resembles an O. As of June 2021 this is still used in some parts of Office 2019 and Office 365, including the updater.

In 2019, the "door" was removed from the logo. This logo is still used in the Office 2019 and 2021 versions.
Microsoft Office 2019/2021[]
2019–present[]
With the announcement of the Office app for iOS and Android on November 4, 2019, the "door" was brought back to the logo in Fluent Design form.[1]
In the 2022 Microsoft Ignite event, Microsoft announced the phasing out of the Office brand, in favor of Microsoft 365.[2] The change affected Office.com, rolling out in November 2022, and the Office app for Android, iOS and Windows in January 2023. The Office brand will remain for its perpetual products Office 2019 and 2021. Office 2024, a successor of Office 2021, is expected to be rolled out in the second half of 2024.
