The color of the icon was changed from yellow to blue for the first time in the application's history. Other programs in the Microsoft Office suite have always kept their original color scheme. Outlook 2016 and 2019 used this logo until 2019.

On November 29, 2018, Microsoft announced that Office 365's programs will have a complete change. Outlook's new logo went online in April 2019. Office 2016 and 2019 also changed their logos.
