2009 (unused)
This was made by Hayden 'Dock' Scott-Baron in 2009, but it was an unused logo.
May 15, 2009–2011
The first logo was made out of the cobblestone as seen in the game, used in the alpha and beta versions.
2011–present
2011–2015 (primary); 2017–present (secondary)
In 2011, Mojang released a new logo for Minecraft for its official release at MineCon. It looks similar to the previous logo, but a Creeper face can be seen in the "A." This logo actually first appeared on Beta 1.4., and despite it is not longer used as the main logo of the franchise, it's still used for the Java Edition.
2012–present
This logo first appeared in the Xbox 360 Edition as a polished version of the previous logo. After Microsoft (the owner of Windows and Xbox) bought Mojang in 2014, this logo became the main logo of the game since 2015. This logo is also currently used for the Bedrock Edition.
