In 1991, Mitra Toko Discount became part of Hero Supermarket.
Mitra Toko Diskon[]
1995–2001, 2006–2007[]
The logo was changed in 1995 when Dairy Farm acquired it alongside Hero Supermarket. Mitra Toko Diskon has 9 stores until 2000, but was later closed in 2001. The store was reopened on 6 January 2006 in Depok, followed by 8 more stores throughout 2006. The logo is similar to Hong Kong-based Wellcome.
Giant Supermarket[]
2007–2013[]
Mitra Toko Diskon was later converted into Giant Supermarket in 2007, along with some Hero Supermarket stores which was previously occupied by Tops Supermarket.
Giant Ekspres[]
2013–2021[]
Giant Supermarket was renamed Giant Ekspres in 2013, but was later closed in 2021, with some stores converted into Hero Supermarket.
Mitra Diskon Swalayan[]
2024–present[]
On 4 December 2024, PT Hero Retail Nusantara (a newly formed company which spun off from DFI Retail Nusantara) opened the first Mitra Diskon Swalayan store at Citimall Cimanggis, Depok, West Java, and will replace some Hero Supermarket stores which was previously occupied by Giant Ekspres, along with some abandoned Giant Ekspres stores. It will compete with Ahold Delhaize-owned Super Indo and AlfaCorp-owned Alfamidi Super. The logo is similar to previous Giant logo.
