Early in its history, Mobil marketed its oil products using the "Gargoyle" name. Today, Gargoyle is a Mobil product line of lubricants for industrial refrigeration systems.

This logo was designed by Tom Geismar of Chermayeff & Geismar. It was adopted in 1964, but was not used until 1966. The red Pegasus also remains in use on equipment, vehicles, and buildings, but is no longer a primary logo.
