On September 22, 2007, Discovery Communications launched high-definition simulcasts of Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC and Science Channel. At the same time, Discovery was dropped from the channel's name and it became simply "HD Theater".

Velocity

2011–2018

HD Theater changed its name to Velocity on October 4, 2011.

Motor Trend

2018–present

On April 10, 2018, Discovery, Inc. announced that Velocity would be rebranded as Motor Trend on November 23, 2018.
