The M in this logo was taken from that of Munford's most successful subsidiary, Majik Market. In 1985, Munford acquired LeeWards from General Mills, which was spun off in 1988. This same year the company was acquired by the Alabama Merger Corporation, and in 1990 the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
