1912–1968[]
NAC Breda was founded as NAC in 1912, as a result of the merger between NOAD and ADVENDO. NOAD stood for Nooit Opgeven, Altijd Doorzetten (Never give up, always persevere), and ADVENDO stood for Aangenaam Door Vermaak En Nuttig Door Ontspanning (Pleasant for its entertainment and useful for its relaxation). Thus, the new club's full name became Nooit opgeven altijd doorzetten, Aangenaam door vermaak en nuttig door ontspanning, Combinatie Breda, giving it the longest club name in football.
