This logo was introduced for NBC's coverage of Super Bowl XXIII on January 22, 1989. This was used as a secondary logo until 1990.
Version of the logo with the text "Sports" colored gold instead of red. This would later go on to be a primary logo, replacing the same logo with the red "Sports" text soon after until 2012.

2011–present
The "Sports" lettering in the logo was designed by Charles Borges de Oliveira, which is a modified version of the 1989 "Sports" lettering. The logo was also modified by altering the peacock, and changing the font for the word "NBC" into the modified version of Gotham.
