2011–2020[]
On April 1, 2011, NHK BS Premium was launched on the former BS hi frequency (satellite channel 103). This logo and NHK BS1 logo were designed by Happy and Happy.
2020–2024[]
On April 19, 2023, NHK announced that the BS1 and BS Premium channels are to be merged and renamed to simply NHK BS alongside the renaming of it's 4K channel to NHK BS Premium 4K.[1] These changes took effect on December 1, 2023. Regular programming on BS Premium ended one day earlier and the full shutdown on channel 103 occurred on March 31, 2024.
