From the 2005-06 to the 2020-21 seasons, NBC was the exclusive broadcaster of the Stanley Cup Finals. However, [[ESPN on ABC|ESPN/ABC]] announced on March 9, 2021, that they will hold half of the next media rights to the NHL including 4 Stanley Cup Finals from 2022-2028. One month later, their second counterparts at TBS/TNT ("[[Turner Sports]]") announced they would share the media rights with Disney's broadcasters. On July 7, 2021, NBC showed their final game as the official U.S. network to telecast the National Hockey League.
