The Natal Sharks (Natalse Haaie in Afrikaans) is a rugby union team from Durban, South Africa.

The Natal provincial team was nicknamed as Piesangboere or Banana Boys until 1995.
1995-present[]

In 1995, the Natal provincial team changed its nickname to "The Sharks" after that the Natal province was merged with the former Bantustan KwaZulu in 1994 and a year later, the team's mascot, Sharkie, was introduced.
