Print variant
In 2008, the NFL modified their 24 year-old logo by reducing the number of stars from 25 to 8; the stars represent the eight divisions, and are separated to the right and left to represent the two conferences. Additionally, the typeface and shield were slightly modernized. Also the football was modified.
Special logos
This was used from September 23, 2001 to December 30, 2001 for the 9/11 attacks.
This was used on September 11, 2011, for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
This is used from November 1 to November 11 every year since 2011, "to honor our veterans" (United States Army). This was replaced by the reissue of the "honor our veterans" logo with the gold NFL logo in 2015, but the original logo will soon be reinstated in 2016.
This was used from October 2015, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This was used from November 1 to November 11, 2015, "to honor our veterans". This is a reissue logo of the white "honor our veterans" logo.
