National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is an Indian general insurance company owned by the Government of India and headquartered in Kolkata in the eastern state of West Bengal. It was founded in 1906.
Other state-owned insurance companies in India include Life Insurance Corporation, New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance Company and United India Insurance.
