Sainsbury’s Saver Card[]
1993-1996[]
Saver Cards was a loyalty card introduced by Sainsbury's in the 1993 in response to Tesco's 'Clubcard' loyalty card. Each card was only valid in one specific branch, and not all branches introduced the Saver Card scheme.
Sainsbury’s Reward Card[]
1996-1999[]
In June 1996 Sainsbury's Supermarkets launched its nationwide loyalty card known as 'Reward Card'. This replaced the earlier 'Saver Card' each of which could only be used in one specific branch.
1999-2002[]
In 1999, Sainsbury’s changed their logo which also enacted onto the reward cards.
Nectar[]
2002–2007[]
Nectar cards were introduced in 2002 as a joint loyalty card scheme by Sainsbury's, Debenhams, Barclaycard, and BP. Since that date additional companies have joined the scheme. In Sainsbury's, it replaced the earlier Reward Card loyalty scheme.
2007–2019[]
2019–present[]
On 2 October 2019, Nectar changed to a predominately app-based system, and with so modernized their logo.
