Nestlé Skin Health was created in 2014 after Nestlé took over full control of Galderma, which was a 50:50 joint venture with L'Oréal. Since 2018, some Galderma products (including its most famous product, Cetaphil) carry the Nestlé Skin Health logo rather than the Galderma logo.

In October 2019, the skin health business of Nestlé was sold to a consortium led by EQT Partners, returned the use of Galderma's name for the whole new company.
