In January of 1970, the Avalon Telephone Company changed their name to the Newfoundland Telephone Company. A new logo would later be rolled out in March that same year, to accompany the name change.
NewTel Communications[]
1996–1999[]
In 1999, NewTel Enterprises, the parent company of NewTel Communications, merged with Bruncor, Island Telecom and the Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company to form Aliant, known today as Bell Aliant.
