The original incarnation of News Corporation was an American multinational mass media corporation operated and owned by media mogul, Rupert Murdoch. Its headquarters were located in New York City.
1980–2013
The company was created in 1980 as a holding company for News Limited (now News Corp Australia). On June 28, 2013, News Corporation split into the new conglomerates; 21st Century Fox (defunct as of 2019) and the present-day News Corp.
