On March 1, 1999, the channel was launched. Nickelodeon GaS used this logo from 1999 to 2003. The logo is a two-color diamond with a flag-shaped Nick logo on top and the word "GaS" (G and S are in the Bank Gothic font and "a" is in Highway Gothic font inside a circle.) Below there are two strips (the first strip reads "GAMES AND SPORTS" in a grungy font and the second strip reads "FOR KIDS" in the same font.

In 2003, the channel was shortened to Nick GaS. The logo itself stays the same with some minor changes: The Nick banner was given a shadow effect, the green outline on "GaS" was recolored gray, and the strips are also now blue and "GAMES AND SPORTS FOR KIDS" are in a lighter blue.

The channel was shut down on December 31, 2007 and was replaced by the 24-hour The N channel. An automated version of GaS was retained by Dish Network until April 23, 2009, when it was replaced by the Pacific feed of Cartoon Network.
