The basic wordmark has remained unchanged since 1988.

1988–2003[]
In 1988, Nippon Kogaku changed its name to Nikon Corporation after its cameras.
2003–present[]
The current version of Nikon’s 1988 wordmark was introduced in 2003, wherein the wordmark sits at the bottom of a yellow square with wing-like slits in it. At the same time, a corporate slogan (At the heart of the image) was introduced, which has been complemented by “I am Nikon” since 2010.[1]
