Nine News and Current Affairs (formerly Solar News and Current Affairs/Solar News and 9News and Current Affairs/9News) was the news and current affairs programming division of Nine Media Corporation leased the airtime of Southern Broadcasting Network (2011-2023) and Radio Philippines Network (2012-2024).

After Solar Entertainment bought 34% of RPN, Solar opened Talk TV on April 1, 2011 and finally ventured into news at the end of 2011. It uses the Solar TV sun emblem from 2009.

On August 23, 2014, following Solar News Channel rebranded the channel itself as 9TV, its news arm was rebranded to 9News.

9News ceased identifying themselves explicitly under such brand when the channel was launched as CNN Philippines on March 16, 2015.

Nine Media Corporation's news division was dissolved on January 31, 2024, after closure of the channel, followed by termination of their brand licensing agreement with CNN due to financial losses. Its parent company, ALC Group of Companies shift its focus on the operations of their sister channel, Aliw Channel 23. The channel was replaced by RPTV, with news content supplemented by News5, and Nine Media's current affairs shows were carried over on the new channel.

Meanwhile, the news asset was later absorbed by its sister company, Broadreach Media Holdings, Inc., relaunched as NewsWatch Plus, a digital news and lifestyle media service, and as primetime program block on Aliw Channel 23.
