2014[]
After Microsoft completely acquires Nokia mobile devices division, Microsoft immediately discontinues the Nokia X line and later the Android fork Nokia X platform. The last release of the Nokia X Platform update was September 2014, making this a very short-lived Android-based platform.
It wouldn't be until 2020 when Microsoft releases their first Android device in 6 years called the Surface Duo. Unlike the Nokia X line, Microsoft Surface Duo has Google apps and services alongside its own Android apps including Microsoft Launcher.
