Now is one of the biggest privately-owned television channels in Turkey, and the only one to be owned by a foreign media group (namely The Walt Disney Company). Along with its competitors such as Kanal D, Show TV and Star TV, the channel is best-known for TV dramas that are exported worldwide, but also for its news division Now Haber.

The channel was originally launched in 1993 as TGRT, owned by Ihlas Holding.

On July 23, 2006, the erstwhile News Corporation acquired TGRT from Ihlas Holding and rebranded it to Fox on February 24, 2007. A high-definition feed of Fox was launched in 2013.

¹	WFDF was originally in the Flint radio market before moving to Farmington Hills in the Detroit radio market in 2006. As a result of the station's move to Detroit, WFRO in the Toledo market as well as another station in Northern Michigan (also on 900) were taken off the air to allow WFDF to increase its broadcast power.
²	Disney/ABC never owned the station, but operated it under a Local Marketing Agreement. Birach Broadcasting has since taken complete, outright control of the station.
