In 1996, O-Pee-Chee would be sold to Nestlé and would become defunct that same year.

One year later, the O-Pee-Chee name was revived by the American trading card company Topps to release trading cards until 2004. In 2007, Upper Deck became licensor of the O-Pee-Chee brand and still releases hockey trading card collections to this day.
