OfferUp was introduced in July of 2011, but wasn't until November of the same year, when its mobile app for iOS and Android was made available on their respective app marketplaces.

In mid-2012, its logo was slightly updated by removing the flower from the top of the "p" and making partial changes to its font, including the removal of the gradient (although before then it was still in place). This also led to the introduction of its current tagline, buy. sell. simple.
