In November 2016, after Hilco bought the UK operations from Staples, Inc., they said they were planning to phase out Staples-branded shops in the United Kingdom over the coming months. However, Staples brand continued to exist as separate online service.

Office Outlet[]
2017–2019[]
Starting March 2017, Hilco began rebranding its 106 Staples UK stores as "Office Outlet", while keeping a red and white colour scheme. In 2019, all Office Outlet stores closed.
