2018[]
The Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) were a team of select individuals from the Russian Federation competing at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. The team was created as a temporary replacement for the Russian Olympic Committee, who was suspended by the International Olympic Committee in late-2017.
Russian athletes without previous drug violations were given an exemption and may compete, but not as Russian athletes. Instead, the phrase "Olympic Athletes from Russia" was used. Athletes competed under the Olympic Flag and the Olympic Anthem was played at medal ceremonies. The logo for the team was designed to be as generic as possible, only using white and red, printed in English and no emphasis given to 'Russia'.
Athletes was prohibited from making references to Russia in any form. They couldn't wear the Russian coat of arms or other national identifiers. In these instances, the OAR logo would be used instead. They also couldn't wear more than two colours at once or the pantones used on the Russian flag.
