In March 2019, the Macedonian Olympic Committee changed its name to the Olympic Committee of North Macedonia after getting approval by the International Olympic Committee. This name change came just one month after an agreement was reached regarding the Macedonia naming dispute between the Republic of Macedonia and Greece, with Macedonia being renamed to North Macedonia in February 2019.
