On November 11th 2020, the Chicago Huntsmen announced that they would be rebranding to OpTic Chicago after CEO and co-owner Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez reacquired the OpTic Gaming brand from Immortals Gaming Club. Despite being under the OpTic brand, the team was still under association with NRG.
On November 8th 2021, Envy Gaming announced that they have acquired and merged with OpTic Gaming. As a result of the merger, the Dallas Empire acquired the OpTic branding and rebranded as OpTic Texas. OpTic Chicago's franchise spot was sold to Kraft Sports Group and Oxygen Esports which later formed the Boston Breach.
