Launched as One in 1998, Orange Austria was a telecommunications company in Austria and the third-largest mobile network operator in the country, after A1 and T-Mobile and ahead of Drei (Three). It was partly (35%) owned by France Télécom, which renamed One to Orange in 2008.[1]
On 21 December 2011, Drei announced its plans to acquire Orange Austria. The acquisition was finalised on 3 February 2012,[2] with Orange selling its sub-brand Yesss to A1 Telekom Austria, and the Orange brand was retired in favour of Drei in 2013.[3]
One was renamed to Orange on 22 September 2008.[1] The Orange brand in Austria lasted for nearly five years until it was phased out in favour of Drei on 18 August 2013.[3]
