Launched in 1999 as Méditel, Orange is the second-largest mobile network operator in Morocco by subscribers, after Maroc Telecom and ahead of inwi.

Méditel was renamed to Orange on 12 December 2016. Earlier that year, Mobistar in Belgium and Mobinil in Egypt were also renamed to Orange.
