Orange Romania Communications, operating until 2014 as Romtelecom and Cosmote and until 2022 as Telekom, is a Romanian telecommunications company, owned by Orange S.A. and formerly by OTE and Deutsche Telekom.

Telekom Romania
2014–2022
On September 12, 2014, the Romtelecom and Cosmote brands were replaced by the Telekom brand.
On November 9, 2020, it was officially confirmed that Orange signed the acquisition agreement for 54% of Telekom Romania Communications (formerly Romtelecom) for 268 million euros. OTE says it will retain ownership of the former Cosmote.[1]
Orange Romania Communications
2022–present
In March 2022, Orange had publicly announced that Telekom will be closing its Telekom Romania Communications division which was eventually replaced with Orange Romania Communications. Alongside that, they also announced that everything containing the Telekom branding in Romania will be replaced by Orange, including its TV channels that were acquired by the latter in 2021. The said change was applied on March 28, 2022, although Telekom branding is still used in non-Orange material.
On December 29, 2023, Orange Romania and the Government of Romania signed an agreement regarding the merger of Orange Romania Communications with its parent company by mid 2024.[2]
