WHA-TV

1954–1971

WHA-TV in Madison first signed on May 3, 1954.  It was the first public television station in Wisconsin and remained the only one until WMVS (Milwaukee Public Television) signed on in 1957.

1971–1986

In 1971, the Wisconsin state legislature created the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, activating five stations as satellites of WHA-TV during the 1970s - WPNE/Green Bay in 1972; WHWC/Menomonie and WHLA/La Crosse in 1973; WHRM/Wausau in 1975 and WLEF/Park Falls in 1977. Though united as a network, WHA-TV and the other stations would employ their respective call signs for on-air branding until the mid-1980s.

Wisconsin Public Television

1986–1993

WHA-TV and its five satellite stations adopted the collective name of "Wisconsin Public Telelvision" in 1986, and its "stylized W" logo from 1980.

2019-present
