Talking Stick Resort, a hotel and casino based in Scottsdale, secured naming rights for the arena in 2014 and renamed it the Talking Stick Resort Arena in September 2015, before the beginning of Phoenix Sun's 2015-16 season.

On February 18, 2025, it was announced that it would seek a new naming rights partner for the arena. As a result, the Footprint Center branding has been removed from the building, and it is temporarily renamed PHX Arena for the second time until a new naming rights partner is found.
