In December 22, 2006, Prisa Radio (then Unión Radio) announced the purchase of Ibero American Radio Chile from Claxson Chile. The operation was approved in August 2007, and later merged it with his already owned radio networks company CRC with the newly acquired company.
The new company, now renamed Ibero Americana Radio Chile was launched in January 2008.
