Without an announcement, Papa John's updated its iconic logo on one of its new Specialty Pizzas television advertisements. The typeface changed to a font named "Italian Plate" and the pizza ribbon became slightly bigger. This is used on TV and online ads, on buildings and on its website, with it being used in the US, and in the UK.
This is still used for the time being on pizza boxes and other packaging as of December 2021, with a new design based around the current logo to debut soon.

On November 16, 2021, Papa John's announced they will go for a major rebrand in which the possessive apostrophe and the "Pizza" ribbon are removed from its logo that now reads as simply Papa Johns. Other changes include that the green outline is also removed and the typeface's font was changed. The new logo will start to roll out by the end of 2021 and into 2022, seen at new redesigned restaurant chains.
