TNN parent CBS Corporation (formerly Westinghouse Broadcasting) was acquired by Viacom in 2000. That same year, "The Nashville Network" became "The National Network", as it adopted a general entertainment schedule similar to USA Network, TBS and TNT to distinguish it from sister network CMT.

TNN was officially renamed as "Spike TV" in August 2003. This logo would be used on the stage set of WWE Monday Night Raw from March 2004 until September 2005 before WWE Raw returned to USA Network on October 3rd.

A new logo for Spike was introduced in May 2006 and removed the word "TV" from the name.[1]

2015–2018

On March 3, 2015, Viacom unveiled a new logo and on-air presentation for Spike, as they repositioned the network as a general entertainment network with more women-oriented programming for the first time since its TNN days. Spike was also launched with this logo in the United Kingdom a month later on April 15, 2015.

On February 8, 2017, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Viacom will rename Spike to the Paramount Network. The rebranding will take place on January 18, 2018.
