Paris is a chain of department stores that began as a furniture store created by José María Couso in the early twentieth century, which later became a department store in 1949.

Since 2005, it has been owned by Cencosud.

This is the first Paris logo when it started as a furniture store.

Almacenes Paris[]

1949–2004[]

In 1949, Mueblería Paris became a department store and its name was renamed Almacenes Paris.

The logo under this stage was a blue circle with the name Paris in handwritten typography invented by the chain, where a large dot stands out, behind the P, the word ALMACENES and below, the trademark (M.R.) with the same typography.

In 2001, the logo was redesigned in a 3D bevel.

2004–2005[]

On March 25, 2004, Paris launched a new logo for the first time in more than five decades.

The logo is an intense ice blue circle with light blue interior with another smaller white circle with a more intense light blue interior.

Inside the logo, the word "paris" on Interstate typeface in black with the letter "a" in white (or light blue without the background) and without the point in the i and below, the word "almacenes" in white and with the same typography.

It was designed by Chilean agency IMAX Branding[1].

In November 2005, the word "almacenes" was fully dropped after Cencosud's purchase.

In August 2011, the word "cencosud" was added under the name and moving the word "paris" slightly from the middle.

In addition, the edge that was ice blue becomes white, combining with the edge of the small circle, as well as a touch-up in the shade of blue inside the large circle.

This logo will become over the years the basis of the logo used by Cencosud in each of its brands, becoming in turn the logo of Cencosud itself.

In November 2013, the interior of both circles of the logo becomes a pure light blue color, in addition, the Paris name becomes entirely white.

In March 2014, the edge of the large circle adjusted its thickness to fit the Cencosud logo standard.

The logo first started to appear in middle December 2021, and it was officialy introduced on February 2022.

The color of the logo was adjusted to be more blue, and the Paris wordmark was reduced.
