Paris Filmes is a Brazilian film/home video distributor founded in 1960 by Romanian immigrant Sandi Adamiu. Originally distributing movies for movie theatres, Paris Filmes began distributing movies in VHS tapes under two labels: Paris Video Filmes and América Vídeo (used for action movies and/or b-movies). After the 1990s, the América Video label was discontinued, and the company moved to also distributing DVDs.
In the late 2000s, the company started distributing national (made in Brazil) movies, also under the Paris Filmes label. Currently, the company is associated with Globalgate Entertainment, a film venture composed of various film producers, like Lionsgate, Gaumont and Televisa.
