The Democratic Party (Partai Demokrat) logo is a three-pointed star very similar to that of Mercedes-Benz. Therefore, local media oftentime refer the party as "the party that bearing the Mercy emblem" (partai berlambang Mercy). Several sources states that the star represent three principles: Religious-nationalism, Humanism and Pluralism.
