At the time of the company's acquisition of Quaker Oats in August 2001, PepsiCo changed its logo. The new logo was created by Landor Associates. It keeps the globe motif but makes it less schematic and more lively. It also loses its connection to the Pepsi identity. Instead, five latitudes in different colors represent the company's divisions: Frito-Lay, Pepsi, Tropicana, Quaker and Gatorade.
