1967-1968
Every Penguins logo has included a gold triangle in some form or another since their inception. This is thought to be a reference to the Golden Triangle, a nickname for downtown Pittsburgh. This logo was also worn during the 2011 NHL Winter Classic.
1968-1972
1972-1992
NOTE: In January 1980, the team changed their team colors from navy (dark) and collegiate (light) blue to black and yellow, matching the color schemes of Pittsburgh's other two sports teams, the Steelers and Pirates.

This logo was designed by Vance Wright Adams and Associates after the team won two consecutive Stanley Cups.
2000-2016
The 2000 alternate became the primary logo in 2002, albeit in the "Vegas Gold" hue.
2016-present
The yellow-ish "athletic gold" returned completely in 2016.
50th anniversary badge, revealed on February 9, 2016,[1] and used during the 2016-17 season.
