Pizza Dispatch began as an alternate name chosen by Domino's Pizza after the courts had initially sided with Domino Sugar in a trademark lawsuit in September 1979. Domino's would start opening new stores under this name in December 1979 while waiting for an appeal to be granted. In April 1980, this ruling was reversed.
1984-1989[]
The Pizza Dispatch name was revived in 1984 for a Domino's offshoot of delivery outposts with simpler menus. Domino's would announce the end of the Pizza Dispatch concept on June 19, 1989.
